I hear it ALL the time!

I need to lose weight, but I can’t.

I’m stuck in a RUT.

I don’t know what else to do.

3 TIPS when you NEED To Lose Weight, But You’re Stuck in a RUT

1. Clean Out Your Fridge & Pantry. Maybe you’re just bored with the foods you’re eating. You go to the fridge or pantry but nothing excites you. It’s just the same old same old stuff. I clean out my fridge and pantry weekly. I add new foods I want to try to my shopping list weekly. I get rid of anything I am not eating and of course replace any BAD stuff with GOOD stuff. That way the foods in my fridge are always fresh and always exciting.

2. Change up Your Fitness Routine. You can’t keep doing the same old thing and expecting different or the same results. That’s the definition of insanity! I like to change up my fitness routine every 6-12 weeks. I add in new things and amp up my routine. For instance, if I’ve been trail running and weight lifting 3 times a week, I will instead switch to sprinting after weight lifting 4 times a week. That’s just a basic example. But you can change the days you train certain muscles along with the equipment you are using. You can also get new shoes and yoga pants. Sometimes this gives us all the motivation we need to get creative with a new routine and take things to the next level!

3. Calorie Cycling or Intermittent Fasting. This means you don’t eat the same amount of calories each day. You cycle between let’s say 1200 calories one day and 1600 calories the next day with an added cheat day at the end of the week. This is a proven trick to “trick” your body. By following this calorie cycling routine, your body never goes into starvation mode, which can actually cause you to store fat instead of burn it – yikes!
